This is a lot of free verse poems i wrote over time. Hope you enjoy!
I say nothing.
Afraid I might break the silence, as it has done to me.
Afraid to speak up, for I may say the wrong words.
Afraid to move, because once you do, you could never go back.
Its okay to be quiet. sometimes it better that way.

When I sit back, I feel the stabbing pain of loneliness.
When I turn, I see the presence of nothing.
When I cry, I hear the burning that comes when one slowly destroys a soul.

you think I may never feel again.
But then morning comes,
And you distract yourself all the day long.
Then, for a split second, you think your okay.
But then night comes,
And like the sun comes, then the moon,
The cycle starts over.
I may never feel again.

Peace settles in my stomach
As I sit there.
Maybe scientists are wrong.
Maybe we are solitary creatures.

We lay there, under the night sky,
The wind playing with my hair,
The stars reflecting off your eyes
As if you were a lake,
Full of surprises.

I sometimes imagine, I hear your car.
Especially if I was having a bad day.
I sometimes imagine, you understood.
Especially after we talked.
I imagine. Its why I'm sane.

I look out over the cliff,
Over the water.
I tell myself I could just jump.
They wouldn't notice.
I imagine the wind whipping my hair,
As I fall to freedom.
But then I think of you,
The only person who’d miss me.
And here I stay, on the edge of the cliff.

I go into the closet,
Letting my imagination run free.
I look to the rain pounding on the window,
My heart goes the same pace as it,
Hoping to run away.
But there it stays,
guiding the story of my life.

There is times, where all we want is to be alone.
But when we are,
All we want is someone to talk to.
But when there is, we won’t.
We can’t. it seems someone locked our hearts,
And threw away the key.
Then away with the wind, we go.

Stories aren’t a figment of the Imagination,
They’re a piece of the heart.

As long as we are alive,
We will always contradict.
Whether it is true or not,
We will always want to argue.
No matter how much you persuade us,
There will always be a certain amount of doubt.
It’s just human nature not to believe.
--Melody Inkwell
Why are we never quiet? I mean, sure, we stop talking.
But we could never truly be quiet.
We could never stop our minds from buzzing,
Whirring, humming, droning on and on, about nothing in particular.
Even when we sleep, our minds don’t rest.
Have you ever realized, that we are not in control of our minds?
That it’s in control of us?
--Melody Inkwell
The walls shake,
Tremble and threaten
To crash
Down on our dreams,
Raining on our parades.
--Melody Inkwell
I try not to look into the faces of other’s,
Afraid I might have to talk to them.
It’s so stressing to have to think of what to say,
How to say it, and when. Could we just
Sit together in silence, in the dark?
